A Jonian Dolphin Conservation project utilized Vuototecnica vacuum cups to support crittercams, which are special video cameras that are mounted on dolphins’ backs. The project has already garnered its first successful results. A first look follows:
“We utilized approximately forty Vuototecnica vacuum cups, each positioned on a dolphin that we monitor daily. We are recording 3-minute video clips” explained Carmelo Fanizza, a marine researcher involved in the project. “Now the project will take off with more regular recordings. Thanks to sponsors, including Vuototecnica, we are also purchasing a hydrophone, in order to record dolphin sounds, which will be the sound-track of the documentary that we are producing. Also we are planning to acquire GPS locators, which are useful in order to recover the Vuototecnica vacuum cups at sea“.
