Vacuum pumps, compressors, pneumatic systems: every industrial process generates noise. But there are solutions that can contain it, making the working environment more comfortable and safer. Among these, Vuototecnica silencers play a fundamental role.

Integrated directly at the pump outlet or available as accessories to be installed later, they reduce air discharge noise without compromising performance.

In rotary vane pumps, for example, the outlet filter also acts as a silencer, reducing the acoustic peaks typical of the exhaust phases. VTS dry pumps are equipped with a filter on the exhaust that acts as a silencer, while VTL pumps have an oil recovery tank installed on the pump exhaust, containing a separator filter that prevents the formation of oil mist and, at the same time, reduces noise.

In single-stage and multi-stage vacuum generators and PA suction pumps, a SSX free flow or 2SSX silencer in anodized aluminum with sound-absorbing rings is fitted as standard on the discharge connection, significantly reducing noise.

The SSX and 2SSX exhaust silencers consist of a hollow cylindrical body made of anodized aluminum, inside which are rings made of a special natural fiber material. This material is sound-absorbing and resistant to the presence of oil vapors or other liquids.

Their function is to soundproof the exhaust of vacuum generators, avoiding the risk of occlusion, one of the most common problems encountered when using closed silencers on ejectors.

The “free flow” configuration (with an open exhaust hole for air passage, similar to that of silencers for guns) eliminates all the risks typical of classic compressed air silencers. In the latter, in fact, blockages are often caused by a combination of dust sucked in by the venturi and condensation or oil vapors present in the compressed air feeding the ejector.

The longer the silencer, the greater the noise reduction: a reduction in noise level of between -13 and -20 dB(A) can be achieved, with an operating temperature ranging from -20 to +100 °C.

Distinguished by their effectiveness, SSX silencers have also been used in other applications such as the soundproofing of valve exhausts and pneumatic cylinders.
