Vuototecnica’s multifunction vacuum generators—the MSVE, MVG, and GVMM series—are components that machine integrators know well due to their efficiency compared to other products on the market. These compact pneumatic ejectors are designed to handle the main functions of a gripping system—vacuum generation, control, and energy savings—all within a single unit. Now, however, they offer an additional feature.
Customers who order these generators with the “IO” suffix in the part number receive the 12 10 10 digital vacuum switch already installed on board, in the IO-Link protocol version. This adds “another arrow to their quiver”, changing the way technicians can interact with the system.

The point isn’t just having a more sophisticated vacuum switch. It’s that with IO-Link, operating parameters—such as switching points, hysteresis, and units of measurement—can be read and modified remotely, directly from the PLC, without having to physically go to the machine.
During startup, format changeovers, or maintenance, this translates into tangible time savings and smoother plant management.
Added to this are diagnostic capabilities: IO-Link reports to the PLC not only the instantaneous vacuum value but also the status of the outputs and device information. This data can be logged and analyzed to detect performance drops or anomalies in the vacuum circuit early on, with a view toward predictive maintenance.
